Lines Translated: Lines Edited: That’s right, folks. Progress has been made, the project is not dead! However, I started playing the game with my newest boyfriend (weird, I know:P) and noticing all the errors I made in tense and verbage and such. So now, along with a ‘lines translated’ tracker, I’ve also started a ‘lines edited’ tracker.

Keep in mind this progress bar is JUST for translation. This does not include the unknown amount of time it will take to fix any errors or edit any images that may need it. Of course, starting to replay the game has rekindled my love of the characters and stories, so there IS a silver lining So far I have all of Raoul’s and Fantome’s routes translated.

I am working on Philip sand would say I’m about half done with them. Now about the errors We’re still experiencing errors when we try to save or load the game. Quick Save and Quick Load work, but straight up ‘save’ and ‘load’ cause the game to crash.

Another issue we’re having involves the patching code not playing nice with google spreadsheets and google spreadsheets not allowing me to have all the lines necessary. Basically, the code will only create a patch from one spreadsheet, but the amount of dialogue in this game requires me to have 3 spreadsheets worth of translation, so the code will only patch roughly 1/3 of the game at present, even though I’ve translated much more than that. There is another error that will be rather annoying for those who do not have any Japanese knowledge. The names of the characters are nowhere to be found in the text files that have been extracted, so they still appear in Japanese. For example, instead of Richard, it shows the text リシャール, which is the katakana spelling of Richard. It does this for every character except the main character and a few others whose names I have been able to fix (Fantome and Magician mostly). We are also having problems with the ability to name your own character.

For some reason, even though I’ve kept the call-to-action characters in every instance that the game uses them to recall the name you choose for your character at the beginning of the game, it will not work in the patch. It simply shows the call-to-action characters instead of your chosen name every time. It’s annoying, and I don’t know what can be done. The game is still playable, but it’s annoying. A final error we are encountering is the patch creating issues in the text and dialogue once it is implemented into the game. For example, a line that I have translated as “.” may come out as.”””” or something.

For some reason, quotation marks and apostrophes are causing issues in the game. The game is still playable, so this last error will be the last to be actively worked on, and we could theoretically release the patch if this is the only error left. To address some of the most common questions I’ve been getting recently, I don’t think it makes sense to release an unfinished patch until I get all of the errors worked out. If you are really interested in helping translate, please send me an email at LillyInverse@Gmail.com and I will send you a quick ‘test’ to make sure you are up to it. If you are, then I will gladly take the help! For those who wish to hurry the project along but cannot offer their services, the only thing that will really help with that are donations.

Phantom

If I get enough donations to help offset my living expenses, then I can work on the translation more instead of working to pay my bills;3 Once again, I want to apologize for how long this project is taking, but it is still only me working on translation. My boyfriend has offered to help with the editing of the lines, so that’s at least something. If anyone thinks they can help with any of the errors we’re experiencing, please let me know! Creeping closer and closer to that halfway point! 😀 And in even better news, Falaina got back to me!

Phantom of opera movie

He gave me the scripts he was using and said he’d still be available to help. This is great news because it not only means the project is still on, but also that I will be working with someone who already knows what’s up ^^ The way the files are set up, it seems like each of the characters are broken down into their own section. So far I’ve finished the Phantom and Raoul, and I’m working on Philip right now. Just Remy and Richard to go after this, and then it’s on to beta testing! Wish me luck;3. Got another couple percent done, here’s where we stand right now: BUT! I’m getting nervous!

Still no word from Falaina, so I’ve got to find someone else to help make the actual patch for the game. I’ve had a couple friends look at the files, but we can’t figure out how to decrypt the one that contains all the scripts. Wow, it’s been forever (again Dx) I’m sorry everyone! I have gone through some serious crap lately.PHEW.

Ok, I know it’s been a while. Like, a retarded long time. I’m super sorry, I really wish I could put more time and effort into this! Translating gives me a sense of accomplishment, but this task is so huge and daunting (and occasionally DISTURBING) that I find myself taking frequent, long breaks. I think the person who was helping me work the translations into the game probably gave up on me to. I’ll try to contact them again if/when I get further along in the project.

To answer a few questions: YES! Courage got his wheelchair! Thanks so much to everyone for helping out! Yes, I plan to translate the game, to make the text in the game translated, not just provide a script.

I can use help! If anyone thinks that they could 1. Translate and edit the pictures themselves within the game or 2. Get the translated text into the game files themselves, please let me know! I don’t know if I can rely on someone I have not heard from and not tried to contact in so long I feel bad about it, but I can’t blame them. Finally, YES!

I will need play testers as soon as the game is playable with the patch! I think I’ve answered all the questions posed, but if I missed one please don’t hesitate to comment here. I have a family funeral to go to this weekend, but I imagine that I will need quite a lot of distraction from that, so I will try to get some work done as far as translating lines goes. Wish me luck! Hello again everyone, and Merry Christmas!

Persona Phantom Of The Opera English Patch

I know I’ve been absent for a while, things have been crazy! I’m moving in February, so I’m working on packing up everything and getting the new place all set up. I also got a concussion a couple weeks ago, so that’s been keeping me down as well. I did a teeny bit of translating today and got an instant headache, so I’m not quite 100% yet. Just wanted to let you know that I’m not giving up! I’m still here, still alive and kicking, and still translating, though slowly I admit TT I’m also currently working on creating my own otome game.

I know it’s not that big of a jump from last time, not even 10%, but I like nice round (not really) fractions, so I’m excited to be 1/3 done! Unfortunately, 8% in a month and a half is nothing to brag about but times have been tough, in all senses of the word. I’m laid off over the summer, since I work at a college, so I’ve been making some art to sell at conventions, so I’ve been totally swamped with commissions and preparing to travel to cons to try to bring in at least SOME sort of income during these months. And, of course, summer is when EVERYone wants to hang out and do stuff, so I’ve been trying to balance my working with my hanging out with friends and doing (free) stuff, making time scarce. If you wanna be awesome and signal-boost me, I’d totally appreciate it! My website is. I make geeky stuff, lolita stuff, and cybergoth stuff lol.

Another, not-so-great thing that’s been taking up my time and that I would LOVE for you guys to signal boost is this That is Courage, my mom’s dog. We’re not sure what’s wrong with him, but the vet says it might be neurological.

If you could pleeeease signal boost his Hope Mob (It’s like Kickstarter but for causes) I would REALLY appreciate it! This is his Hope Mob Link And my FINAL excuse for being UBER busy is having been invited by the awesome DJM to stat a podcast! It’s an anime podcast where we watch a different anime every week and then do a podcast on it. We’re on episode 3, going on 4 which should be out this Sunday. If you want to download it, it’s called Nanashi and it can be found on his website That’s it for now!

I’ve got soooo much more to do, but I’m still excited for hitting this major step ^^ As always, the little counter along the left sidebar shows the actual lines translated vs. Actual lines total, so that will give a more accurate view of how far I am. Can’t wait to work more! I know I’ve been MIA for a while, so sorry for that!

Real life can be a pain sometimes 😛 I’ve been doing many convention artist alleys with friends and actually have been working on writing my own otome-style game as well! But the good news is, my next con isn’t until the end of next month, so I will have some spare time in which to relax and translate! Also, school’s out on the 5th of May, so after then I can really get to work! However, as of right now, the text translation is 1/4 done!

I set a goal to hit 25% tonight before bed and I hit it ^^ This project is sloooowly being finished, but hopefully things will pick up as I get used to my crafting schedule for cons. Just a quick update for now, it’s 4am and I’m tired xD Nite everyone! Hello again, and soooo sorry for the delay on updates!

After the new year, things kinda got crazy! I had a death in the family, school started, and I started a whole new business, then my business partner decided to go crazy and I had to get a lawyer. When it rains it pours!

But all that’s (pretty much) settled down for now, so the good news is that I’m back and I’ve got more time to translate, and will be busting my tail to do so! The bad news is, I’m not as far along as I thought I was.

I got in contact with my hacker, and she told me that what I feared was true – she had only uploaded 1/3 of the script to be translated, which set my estimated percent complete wayyyy back. Instead of 35%, I’m back at 22% complete TT This is going to be a looooooong process, and I’m so sorry for getting everyone’s hopes up, including my own.

The progress bar on the left is now updated with the new, correct data, so that is the one I will keep up to date every time I translate more. I’ve changed it to the number of lines in the text documents I’ve got on hand.

The good news about this is that instead of translating 1 line at a time, I’m actually translating 4 because each line I translate has 4 lines total in the document. This will, however, give a more accurate representation of where I am in the process.

And with that, I’m off to do more now! Thanks again to everyone for your support! First of all – happy new year to everyone! I hope your holiday and your year end celebrations went well.

Secondly, it’s been brought to my attention that this blog is getting popular 😮 I never dreamed that this would happen lol. Honestly, I just thought that I would post and show a few friends so that they could keep up with my progress. But this is wonderful! I want to thank all of you – from those who showed me to the forums to ask for help, to those who helped set this whole thing in motion. And I also want to thank those who have helped make this blog popular.

It was recently mentioned on, and If anyone has any more sites that they have seen my blog linked form, please let me know so that I can give them a thank you by posting a link to their site from mine:3 As to the project itself, I spent the last couple days partying with family and friends, so I didn’t get much done. The wonderful lady who’s helping me with the patch itself is out of town, but as soon as she gets back, I’ll have an exact number of line that need to be translated so that I have a more accurate number to use in the progress bars on the site.

New Phantom Of The Opera

I’m going to try to continue at a rate of 500+ lines per day until school starts on the 7th, at which point I will probably have to slow down. Either way, I’m looking at Spring as a deadline for the release. Wish me luck!
